KPIs as variables

In the KPIs section, we listed all the KPIs available in the Scorecard under the Machine data type.

This section shows you how to convert them as variables in the application.

Configuration

In the machine edition popup, under the tab named "KPIs", you can define one as a variable.

To add a KPI as a variable, there are 3 fields to fill in:

  • Machine KPI, being which KPI you want to use.
  • Variable, is the unique name of your KPI throughout the app. It will answer to the same specification as a normal variable.
  • Time period, is the time range where the KPI will be calculated by the app. If you select "OEE" ==> "4h", then the variable will be your Overall Equipement Effectiveness calculated over the 4 last hours.
info

Please note that KPIs are not made for real-time use. These variables are refreshed every minute. If you plan to just display the result, we strongly advice to use the Scorecard build-in "Machine" data-type to display your KPI.

Use your KPI

Now that you created a variable for your KPI, you can use it everywhere:

  • In other variables with the '$' sign to reference it
  • With value triggers to trigger a set of actions
  • In tile rules, useful if you want to set a color indicator on a tile
